The history of this fire truck is what was reported to us by the previous owner, Normanna VFD, Texas. Built in 1979 and stripped, cleaned and rebuilt in 1997 following a fire involving asbestos, Engine 837 (formerly Engine 943) was owned and operated by the Jersey City Fire Department, NJ and saw service at the Twin Towers as part of the Ground Zero clean up effort on September 11th, 2001. Purchased by Normanna VFD, Texas in 2008 and then sold to the Lagarto VFD in 2013 to handle major structure fires in our response area, Engine 837 is now a surplus to requirements having only responded once in the last 18 months. The truck does require some minor repair work due to its used condition, though is in very good condition overall. The Lagarto VFD has just invested in a pair of brand new batteries for the truck and is handling some minor repairs prior to sale. The truck commands a fire scene with 1,000 gallons of water, three hydrant inlets, ten discharges (including two 1" reels and two 1.25" crosslays), a water cannon, enough seating for five firefighters and is capable of delivering 1,750 gal/min at 150PSI or 1,225 gal/min at 200PSI. With its multi-role capabilities, this fire truck is a perfect investment for a growing community, either as a first responder or as a water transfer truck. Priced to sell at $20,000 O.B.O.
