Here we have a 1986 Toyota Escaper Motorhome for sale. It has the 4-cylinder 22RE Engine and the 5-speed standard Transmission. Will sleep 2 adults and 3 kids. The couch makes into a bed for 2 kids and the dinette makes into a narrow small bed. I purchased this RV in the spring of 2013. When I bought it, the ceiling was missing because it had water leaks and I assume the previous owner removed it. The RV had been sitting for several months but started right up when I installed a battery. Here is a list of the work I did to it in preparation of using it for the summer of 2013: -Completely resealed the roof with a heavy duty white roof sealant.-Removed old roof AC unit and installed a New Coleman Polar Cub 7700 Low Profile AC Unit with the heating element option.-Removed old carpeting, replaced subfloor wood and installed new commercial carpeting.-Removed and refoamed / recovered all of the cushions including the 4 booth cushions, the 2 couch cushions and the 2 piece mattress cushion. Used Herman Miller Commercial Fabric.-Installed new wood Booth Frames with lift up lids for added storage under dining booth seats.-Used insulation where needed and fiberglass reinforced Plastic waterproof Paneling to make a new ceiling which will never rot if it gets a leak.-Sealed the front over cab windows.-installed a new toilet flush valve in the bathroom.-Installed a new drain valve to the fresh water tank and to the black/grey holding tanks.-Installed 6 new Heavy Duty Hankook RA08 Tires which currently have about 1500 miles on them.-Installed a Brand New Cylinder Head with all new valves and valve guides because it was using a bit more oil than I felt it should. That fixed the oil consumption issue.-Installed new Front Brake Pads-Installed new Exhaust including Exhaust manifold and Gasket-Changed all fluids and used Mobile 1 Synthetic to the rear differential. This has the 5 lug rear end and I wanted to make sure it runs as cool as possible.-Installed New Spark Plugs, Cap / Rotor, PCV Valve, Air Filter.-Installed a pre-owned Awning.-Installed new pull down shades that have a push button and are really nice!!-Installed new Heater wall Thermostat.-Installed new Battery Summer 2013-Modified Side storage box (generator Box) by adding vent louvers and a powerful fan underneath to force fresh air into this compartment. That allowed us to use a Honda EU2000i portable generator (not included) onboard. I believe that was everything I have done to this motorhome. We used it on a few camping trips. One to Virginia and a couple in-state. I checked MPG at EVERY fill up at the gas station and consistently got 16.5 MPG. I am told these Toyota's with the 22RE and 5-speed combos get over 20 but I had never seen mine do that well. I was very pleased with 16.5. The only reason for selling this Toyota is that our family is just too large for this size unit so we purchased a 5th wheel this past spring. The Toyota Starts right up everytime and runs Great. I would not be afraid to take off on a cross country trip in this tomorrow!! All Exterior lights including clearance lights work, all appliances work as they should, Propane should be about full, Fridge runs fine on gas or electric, toilet flushes fine, Water pump works, water heater works, Roof AC nice and cold, Furnace keeps you warm on cool nights, Stove and oven work fine. Clutch has never slipped and we put it to the test in the Virginia Mountains:). The body of this RV is very clean almost as if it has not seen very many Michigan Winters. Does not have the typical rust on the fenders, bottom of doors and / or cab corners. Some problem areas that I have not addressed yet: Awning has a small tear and is also starting to come out of the seam in one area where it connects in the channel.Passenger side mirror is missing the mirror glassHas the rear suspension airbags but they do not seem to hold air for very long as I recall. I did install new shrader valves and tubing though. There are some dents here and there but nothing major in my opinion. The driver and passenger seats are original and I installed some nice seat covers which make them look updated. The carpeting in the cab floor area was not replaced when I renovated. I did notice that it has the original vinyl floor under the carpet which would be great to utilize. The interior work was done by a non-professional. The headliner in the cab has a few problem areas that weren't addressed during the renovation.Has an exterior dent in the thin metal lower area of the passenger side behind the cab. Cosmetic only and could probably be straightened out.Missing a faucet knob. Will probably have a new one if you buy it:).The TV antenna has a directional powered remote control that lights up but I don't think it turns internally in the sealed circle. I never hooked a TV to it either. No Cab AC. Can be added on these trucks with salvage yard parts or use a portable Generator to run the 7700 BTU Roof AC.This Toyota has the 5 lug rear end. I used synthetic Mobile 1 in it to try and keep it running as cool as possible. I am sure there will be lots of questions and I am ready for them. Please ask and I will do my best to answer right away. The RV is currently located in Dowling, MI 49050. It is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time if there is a local sale.
