This is a 1958 Heil 6400 gallon Aluminum Tanker trailer. The tanker is in good condition for the age. We have pulled it on the road. The trailer has 3 tanks 3000 gallons, 2000 gallons and 1400 gallons with outlets and valves on the bottom. We have used this tanker for sometime for storing water or oil. There are no dents or leaks. It could easily be made road worthy with tires and brake upgrades. Heil made many of these tankers for the military and some are still in use.

Hi I bought this from an estate earlier this year. The German gentleman who owned had the following done.Converted from Lunette to a 2" ball. this was not a hack job. The Lunette was cut off and a 2" receiver was welded to the shaft. looks like this was done a LONG time ago and is holding up just fine. you could convert this back by just replacing the shaft. Everything else is original.The rear was cut and a slid in corrugated stainless steel panel is used and slides into a channel on the back. Very slick and keeps it structural sound.Now the interesting part. There is a custom made aluminum liner in this. The floor is solid and without any holes. the body has surface rust but is solid.The lid is aluminum and designed to fit over the liner or on its own. The parking brake works (at least 1 wheel, i have it off for storage) The tires need to be replaced. they are cracking but would make it home shorter distances i would imaging. I drove from northern Pennsylvania home with this just fine. I just kept an eye on it. Everything is greased and working as it should. The license plate it mounted on the back (with a light), this is not a hack job either, the PO took the time to drill and tap the holes so the screws go in + he used anti seize on the threads.All lights work as they should and hook up fine using a 4 pin plug. The original chains have been replaced.I have a clean title in my name registered in Virginia There has been a number of questions from Lug pattern to interior dimensions to spring and shock type. these trailers have been used by the military since at least the Vietnam war. they are well documented online. If you require more information please do a search. I will answer what I can if I know, But if I have to search, you can do your own leg work.

I bought this M416 based trailer off another fellow Jeep'er a few years ago, and I had the trailer shipped 3200 miles out from Illinois to Arizona. It is a very nicely custom built trailer, based on the military M416 dimensions, and I've made some other modifications myself. Previous owner had a 1 ton axle on it, but at my request he installed a 3500 lb. axle before it was shipped to me. I have since installed electronic brakes, re-did the wiring, added some RaceDeck flooring, and installed new wheel bearings. Also installed were new 17" ProComp wheels and tires that match my Jeep (which is also for sale). I was planning to move these new wheels and tires to my Jeep, as I'd like to have more sidewall rubber on the Rubicon, but if you purchase the trailer at full asking price, you will receive the trailer with the new 17" wheels and tires as pictured. The trailer has a side-hinged top panel, with hydraulic strut assist. Mounted on top is a 3 man roof-top tent. There is a 19 gallon fresh water tank on the front bulkhead (with hose bib and valve), and a plastic tongue box on the front rails. I've installed a nice wire junction box in there also, as I was planning to add two or four LED lights around the perimeter of the trailer, a full sized marine battery, and solar charging panel...I just never got around to it - but the junction box is there ready to go. There is a shovel mount on one side, and a custom bolt-on Hi-Lift mount on the other side. Approximate weight is about 600 pounds empty, it's 69" wide from tire sidewall to sidewall, about 125" long, and at least 60" tall. Included is a 360° swivel hitch made by Adventure Trailers. This hitch is their "Max Coupler" and it's is a serious piece of hardware - 2"x2" Class III hitch, no cheesy ball hitches here. The trailer could be spinning cartwheels behind your tow vehicle, but would not twist your vehicle with it. Also, it allows extreme articulation angles, both side to side and up and down. I've upgraded the latches on the top tie downs, and installed some nice tight fitting pad locks. I've tried tumbler locks, round locks, but finally, the shanks on the current locks are perfect and don't bounce around. Wiring is a heavy duty 7 conductor setup, made to hook up to the 7 pin connection on my Jeep. So far, just the brake/tail lights and the brakes are wired up. I have a license plate light, but haven't installed it. Heavy coated wire safety lines latch to your bumper. The tent is in great shape, but we've only used it once to be honest. The original owner and builder of the trailer did some family outings with it; mom, dad and small child in tent, and older kid slept in the trailer down below. With the 35" tires on it, it has quite a bit more ground clearance than the Jeep! This trailer gets looks where ever you go, but it really is a great piece of hardware too. It's ready for your modifications/paint, or just use it as-is. It's ready for the trail. I've just got too many other projects right now, so the Jeep and Trailer need to go to a good home. Up for auction is a 1967 M416 military Jeep trailer that has been custom restored. I had this built to tow behind my Jeep for extra cargo on road trips but has many other uses. This is a really cool trailer that seen very little use & I have to sell because I recently moved & don't have room to store it anymore, since I need to sell soon I'm even listing it for way less than I have into it. Please read entire description before asking questions or placing bids. I purchased this trailer a few years ago to restore but it was too far gone so it was completely stripped and the only parts that are original are the frame, Jerry can mounts, tow chains, landing gear & pintle- all have been professionally sand blasted, sprayed with marine epoxy primer and painted with POR-15 paint. All other parts are new & I'll try to list them all but may forget something- New Jeep leaf spring, shocks, shackles, bolts, bushings, grease fittings etc. New 3500LB axle w/ easy lube hubs w/ 5x5 bolt pattern to match My JK's. New wiring w/ heavy duty 4 wire plug and LED taillights professionally installed, newly made steel body tub w/ tailgate(made by custom welder) painted silver metallic outside & spray on bed liner inside & undercoated underneath. All new hardware(mostly stainless), Custom professionally made waterproof cover(I think it's called Sunbrella & it's not suppose to relax & sag) W/ stainless snaps and front track and has a removable bow for support. New 12" wide fenders to accommodate large off road wheels- has 16" jeep wheels on it now as that's what I had available. I'm sure I'm forgetting other new parts, if I think of anything I'll update info. I registered it in Florida in 2013 as a homemade trailer as it is except for the frame, I do not have a title as FL does not title trailers but I have a registration to transfer with bill of sale(I do not know your states requirements). Now for the imperfections- I never got around to install tailgate cables/chains w/hooks to hold tailgate up or down(easy to do & many options for new owner to do), Also spray on bed liner did not adhere in corners and seems do to chemical reaction with seem sealer used- has been touched up and patched(not perfect) you could live with or redo. Lastly- when the welder made the new body tub there were some wavy and dented areas that were filled with a little body filler to smooth out the imperfections(mainly in the corners). The paint looks good but not perfect - This is a nice trailer and tows perfect, I just wanted to mention everything I can think of so there is no mistakes/surprises. This travel trailer is great for a family or anyone looking for the weekend get away to a longer term solution. New 27 inch flat screen, updated interior, master bedroom, bunks and convertible couch make for great comfort inside. All mechanical accessories are in fine working condition and is kept clean. The outside sink and stove make it nice when you just want to hang out and cook outside when enjoying your trip. The awning is in good condition amd the dry weight is 5675 pounds. My half ton tundra pulls it no problem and has pulled nicely through the Rockies and Sierra mountains. Electric brakes are installed for better contol and braking capabilities. We are moving overseas for a military assignment and can't take it with us unfortunately. I have a flexible schedule and can show the trailer as needed.
