2013 Roadtrek 190 Popular - 6.0 Liter V8 Engine - 22,158 miles - $75,000Located in Denver, ColoradoI bought this RV for one purpose - to take a 3 month, solo, Bucket List trip throughout the western United States and Canadian Rockies (I'm 75 years old). I've finished this fantastic 12,000 mile trip to 31 US and 3 Canadian national parks and monuments and, as planned, am putting it up for sale. As you can see from the photos this vehicle went up and down the most challenging mountains in the west and crossed deserts that saw temperatures rise up to 120 degrees. This gem of an RV did it with ease, comfort and style - primarily because of the its big, 6.0 liter, 332 hp Vortec V8 engine, paired with GM's heavy-duty Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission that made going up and down steep mountain grades and curves a breeze. This is a serious engine - one that Chevrolet put in their heavy duty Silverado 3500 pick up trucks for improved performance and long life.If your intention in buying a Roadtrek is to use it in a flat state like Florida, or on some low hills around your home, don't buy this vehicle - you can save money by buying a Roadtrek with the small 4.8 liter V6 instead. But, if you want an RV to tow a boat, pull a small trailer, or intend go to some of the places I've been - where you might have to drive up an 8 degree road for 5 or 6 miles while trying to pass slow moving trucks or large RVs, then a Roadtrek with the 6.0 V8 engine is the only one you should buy. If you opt to save some bucks instead and go with the small engine, my experience on this trip convinces me you'll live to regret it. Checked with John Elway Chevrolet regarding a 20k mile checkup when I reached Denver. They advised that according to GM what I had just done to vehicle was all that would have been done in 20k checkup, so no further service was required. Bridgestone tires have plenty of rubber left. THE HISTORY OF THIS CAMPER: I am the second owner of this camper. I bought it about 8 years ago when my daughter was 13. The original owner bought it from a dealer who went out of business. I had changed jobs so I would be able to be a full-time Dad and bought the camper so my daughter and I could have a special activity together. We would go "camper-ing" in and around Lake Tahoe maybe 5 times a year, weekend overnight. We also used it when she participated in soccer season. One of the great things about the camper was we didn't have to depend on reserving a campsite in advance and it gave us the freedom to leave late Friday and come back Sunday afternoon. We did quite a few of those short trips. Another really great use was attending my daughters soccer games. Those were strictly day trips and it was like have a little house nearby so you could change clothiers, make lunch, keep things cold, etc. Even though the floor of the camper is the length of the truck bed (6 ft), it is remarkably roomy and we never felt as if we were in a small space. THE SIX PAC STORY: I did a lot of research before I decided to get a SIX-PAC - I'm sure you have also. For those of you new to RVing and campers and you've decided to get one of the best you may be wondering why there are so few SIX PACs available. Around 2007 when the housing crisis hit the sales of RVs fell drastically. It wasn't that people didn't like RVs there was just a lot of uncertainty so they stopped buying them. SIX PAC, made only small truck campers and decided it was best for them to stop making campers until the market turned around. Now it is 2014, the market has recovered and SIX PAC plans to make a comeback in 2015 or 2016. They will offer this very model, the T100, as their base model for a price of $13,000-14,000 US Dollars. Your camper at $5,959 is likely to be worth this same amount 5 years from now, if you take good care of it like I have. It is easy to take good care of your camper, especially if it is a SIX PAC. Think about that as you read the info below. Those Of You Experienced RVer's Who Have Been Looking For A SIX-PAC - you know the value of a super clean one. How long will this one last? I would never consider selling this one if I wasn't moving to Hawaii. But the cost of sending things to Hawaii is so expensive and I'm sending my truck so unfortunately the camper has to go. I've tried to price my SIX-PAC CAMPER fairly. This might be the best SIX-PAC CAMPER available at this price or any price anywhere. CONDITION: I've used eBay's guidelines to describe the condition of the camper. Unlike cars, campers don't wear out in the same way. There is no engine, no tires - you get the idea. All the lights work, the refrigerator works, the inverter works, the stove works, the sink pump works and that's about all there is that wears out over time. It does need a new battery. The outside of the camper is metal and is in great condition. No dents, no scratches, just a bit of dirt that blows with the wind. So depending how you feel, you can wash your camper every couple of months or so depending how it is stored. Most of the RV community has seen the Truck campers built by Host, but few have seen the Class C RVs that they build. In all, about 250 of these units have been produced throughout the years and they are still offered today, however the $250,000 price tag will discourage most buyers. Ok, so what makes these rigs so unique??? This is one of the few RVs built on a Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. The only other RV I have seen in person or owned that was a 4x4 crew cab was Earthroamer. While the Earthroamers are super cool and have a ton of one off options, there is a hefty price tag along with a very small interior. And this is the ONLY 4x4 Rv offered with Slide-Outs......and this has 4 of them!!! Ok, so who goes RVing and needs 4x4. This is something not seen too often but opens up a range of RVing not utilized by many. For those that are North of the Border, RVing year round is not a possibility because of the lack of 4 wheel drive and insufficient insulation. This Host Class C Camper is a 4 season unit with small heaters in each basement storage compartment and several interior heaters and toe-kick heaters. How great would it be to go skiing and drive this RV right up to the slopes and be able to spend all weekend? Or drag the sleds up and enjoy fresh powder in a remote area! Sometimes 4x4 will help you get out of the drive in Michigan to head to Florida. All windows are double paned insulated glass and all walls are thick with tons of R-value, so the coldest of cold or the hottest of hot won't bother you while camping. Next, lets talk about the floor plan. Anyone that has ever slept on a pull out couch does not like the idea of RVing if you are not sleeping in the master suite. This is one of the ONLY RVs I have ever been around that has 2 queen beds, not made up couches or dinettes, and not an air mattress on the floor. Over the cab of the truck is a full size queen bed that you can lift up to make it easier to enter the cab itself. Gone are the days of having to reassemble your RV to accommodate another couple. The dinette will convert into a bed should you need more sleeping area and there is a ton of storage under the cushions. It is equipped with a well appointed galley that has separate fridge/freezer and large capacity convection oven. Going further back is an enclosed head across from the large neo-angle shower. The passenger rear slide houses the large closet and entertainment center and the drivers side rear slide has a full size queen bed that has ample storage under it. This is definitely one of the few Class C RVs that can truly accommodate 2 couples. This RV sits on a 2008 Ford F-550 Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. It is equipped a 350HP Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Engine mated to the rock solid Torque-Shift Automatic Transmission. The truck has just under 11,000 miles and is like new. This is the upgraded Lariat Package which has heated leather bucket seats, steering wheel controls, climate control, and many other creature comforts. A fully automatic hydraulic leveling system has been installed and it has an auxiliary navigation system (w/ backup camera) and a flip down DVD player w/ wireless headphones. The cab has NEVER been smoked in and has NO issues whatsoever. Although this unit is a 2008, it was not put into service until 2010. The state of the economy in 2008 and 2009 was tough on the RV industry, so this unit sat on a dealers lot for 2 years before it was sold. A gentleman located about a 100 miles north of me purchased the unit from a dealership in Twin Falls, Idaho. He used the RV on occasion with his wife and 2 young daughters, but like many RV owners, their hectic schedule conflicted with RVing. When I heard this very rare was available, I jumped at the opportunity. I am happy to report this unit has NEVER been smoked in and has NO water damage. Our area is very dry so we don't get mildew or mold and our RVs don't de-laminate. 2001 WINNEBAGO Itasca Horizon 36LD, This coach is in amazing shape for a 2001 unit. Because it was built by Winnebago, it was built to last. It sits on a Freightliner chassis with a Caterpillar 330 BHP motor mated to an Alison 6 speed transimission. It drives as nice as a new one. It has new rear tires and recent front tires. All are mounted on Alcoa aluminum wheels. For dry camping, the unit is equipped with an Onan Quiet Diesel 7.5 KW generator. The floorplan features a front entry, sofa and chair up front, kitchen across from the dinette, a walk-thru "garden" bath and a rear queen island bed. The front TV has been converted to a digital flat screen. It has a new mattress, new toilet, and has been through a comprehensive inspection by one of our RVIA master certified technicians. Most of the RV community has seen the Truck campers built by Host, but few have seen the Class C RVs that they build. In all, about 250 of these units have been produced throughout the years and they are still offered today, however the $250,000 price tag will discourage most buyers. Ok, so what makes these rigs so unique??? This is one of the few RVs built on a Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. The only other RV I have seen in person or owned that was a 4x4 crew cab was Earthroamer. While the Earthroamers are super cool and have a ton of one off options, there is a hefty price tag along with a very small interior. And this is the ONLY 4x4 Rv offered with Slide-Outs......and this has 4 of them!!! Ok, so who goes RVing and needs 4x4. This is something not seen too often but opens up a range of RVing not utilized by many. For those that are North of the Border, RVing year round is not a possibility because of the lack of 4 wheel drive and insufficient insulation. This Host Class C Camper is a 4 season unit with small heaters in each basement storage compartment and several interior heaters and toe-kick heaters. How great would it be to go skiing and drive this RV right up to the slopes and be able to spend all weekend? Or drag the sleds up and enjoy fresh powder in a remote area! Sometimes 4x4 will help you get out of the drive in Michigan to head to Florida. All windows are double paned insulated glass and all walls are thick with tons of R-value, so the coldest of cold or the hottest of hot won't bother you while camping. Next, lets talk about the floor plan. Anyone that has ever slept on a pull out couch does not like the idea of RVing if you are not sleeping in the master suite. This is one of the ONLY RVs I have ever been around that has 2 queen beds, not made up couches or dinettes, and not an air mattress on the floor. Over the cab of the truck is a full size queen bed that you can lift up to make it easier to enter the cab itself. Gone are the days of having to reassemble your RV to accommodate another couple. The dinette will convert into a bed should you need more sleeping area and there is a ton of storage under the cushions. It is equipped with a well appointed galley that has separate fridge/freezer and large capacity convection oven. Going further back is an enclosed head across from the large neo-angle shower. The passenger rear slide houses the large closet and entertainment center and the drivers side rear slide has a full size queen bed that has ample storage under it. This is definitely one of the few Class C RVs that can truly accommodate 2 couples. This RV sits on a 2008 Ford F-550 Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. It is equipped a 350HP Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Engine mated to the rock solid Torque-Shift Automatic Transmission. The truck has just under 11,000 miles and is like new. This is the upgraded Lariat Package which has heated leather bucket seats, steering wheel controls, climate control, and many other creature comforts. A fully automatic hydraulic leveling system has been installed and it has an auxiliary navigation system (w/ backup camera) and a flip down DVD player w/ wireless headphones. The cab has NEVER been smoked in and has NO issues whatsoever. Although this unit is a 2008, it was not put into service until 2010. The state of the economy in 2008 and 2009 was tough on the RV industry, so this unit sat on a dealers lot for 2 years before it was sold. A gentleman located about a 100 miles north of me purchased the unit from a dealership in Twin Falls, Idaho. He used the RV on occasion with his wife and 2 young daughters, but like many RV owners, their hectic schedule conflicted with RVing. When I heard this very rare was available, I jumped at the opportunity. I am happy to report this unit has NEVER been smoked in and has NO water damage. Our area is very dry so we don't get mildew or mold and our RVs don't de-laminate. The unit was stored outdoors on occasional so you can see some light wearing but all graphics are in good condition and the roof is in good condition as well. Everything functions as it should and there are NO funky smells. The Onan 5500 watt Generator has just 70 hours on it and there is a 1800 watt power inverter that will power the TVs and small appliances. Additionally there is a large solar panel on the roof and a Blue Sky charging system. It is equipped with 2 rooftop AC Units that have no problem keeping the RV cool in our 100 degree Texas heat.
