All cabinetry is beautiful Myrtlewood. Eight solar cells and 15 KW diesel generator give energy independence. Low mileage, 63,000 miles, and regular maintenance. New Michelin XZX tires with only 6000 miles. Clothes washer/dryer. The engine is a Detroit 8V92T. The engine has had the overhead run once. Dash air conditioning has been updated to R-134. Allison transmission fluid has been updated to the new high efficiency fluid. The heating system is two, Primus propane heated, circulating hot water systems. One zone for bedroom and bathroom and one for forward area. The windows are dual pane peninsula windows. Major insulation is Prevost New Commercial Bus Shell. All bays lock. The fresh water, grey water and black water tanks are not heated, however if the main bus is heated to 68/72 degrees we have had no problems down to 0 degrees. It has a Wrico generator using a Kubota diesel engine which has less than 100 hours on it. The generator operates its alternator at 1800 RPM. It has steel rims and gets 6+ MPG on flat interstate. If one drives carefully by the pyrometers perhaps a little better. It has a 5 speed Allison automatic. The motor is DDEC controlled. Passenger double seat and 24 volt inverter. 1. This monitor gives information on the voltage and the ampere hours remaining in the battery banks. B2 is the 6 battery bank of 24 volt Previaleur gell cell batteries. This bank supports the reefer when on batteries. B1 is the 4 battery bank of similar the same batteries. This bank supports the other AC leg when running on batteries. B3 is the engine batteries. There is only a voltage readout here and no ampere hours. 2. These displays monitor the voltage and the amperage draw on the two AC legs. The toggle switch changes the display between the two legs. 3. These displays are for the two Primus heating systems. One is for the living room and one is for the bedroom. Read the Primus documentation in the documentation file on Primus for information on how to run the systems. The heating system fluid (50:50 antifreeze) reservoirs are accessed beneath the aft dinette seat hatch. 4. This is the monitor and control panel for the curbside Heart 24 volt inverter/charger for the 6 battery bank 5. This is the monitor/control/display panel for the fresh water, gray water and black (holding) water tanks. There is a switch here to turn the water pump system on or off. 6. This series of displays and control are for the generator. To start the generator, hold the toggle switch on the pre-heat for a short time and then push up to start the generator. When it is time to stop the generator push the toggle switch down to the stop position for a short time. The gauges show generator oil pressure, water temperature, amperage output and hours run. If it is desired to check the AC voltage output use the AC Amps/ AC Volts display at the top of the panel. 7. These displays are the solar controllers and displays. Each controller is for one 4 panel solar cell bank. When in sufficient light the displays will show the DC volts and amps generated and being directed to the battery banks. 8. These solar cells charge all three battery banks; the two for the house and the engine batteries. 9. This small switch turns on the lights for the displays in the panel. 10. These gauges display the propane level in the two propane tanks. There are two 37 gallon propane tanks in an across the vehicle setup at the aft end of the most posterior storage hatch. This is the same hatch where the tanks and controls and pumps are for the water and holding tanks. 11. This is a line of DC breakers for the DC circuits in the rear half of the coach. 12. This switch is to control a solenoid valve that opens and closes to fill the water tank. At present it is non-functional 13. This switch was to be a master on/off switch for the AC shore supply system. At present it is non-functional 14. This switch resets the Amp/Hour Monitor. When that monitor has set for some time it holds to a last value and to see the most updated values for the batteries this switch must be cycled. It is time to let go of my beloved Silver Eagle bus conversion. This is likely the most reliable and solid coach that will come to the marketplace in quite a while. This coach is a true four season coach and has been extensively tested in sub zero temperatures. While the conversion is not entirely complete, the bus is in 100% tip-top mechanical condition as well as fully functional for camping. This bus was built with reliability, simplicity, and ease of service as the guiding principles for the engineer. No expenses were spared when acquiring the components to assemble this package. If you look closely at the pictures, you will see that the attention to detail during construction was impeccable. This coach is listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early. Please check this listing for links to almost 700 picture of this coach. This is a 1974 Silver Eagle model 05 which had a frame up restoration in 2000. All rusted frame tubes were removed and replaced at that time. The frame was modified to accept the new power plant, cleaned and painted. A 2” receiver hitch was installed. Every effort has been made to retain the original aesthetic appearance of the bus. You will notice very few protrusions from the sides or the roof of the bus. This bus is titled as a recreational vehicle and we have a clear South Dakota title in hand. The bus was painted with Dupont’s, Imron 5000 single stage aircraft paint by Colorado Kenworth. The bus has accumulated a mere 10,000 miles since the restoration. The roof of this coach has been raised 10 inches. The caps were replaced with R&M Fiberglass model 15 caps and windshields. The rear cap has a camera pod which is equipped with a black and white camera with audio, docking lights (operate in reverse or manually with a switch at the rear), and a roof ladder. All siding replaced with new aluminum. The high polished type was utilized on the lower half. All of the 12V wiring was replaced including fuse panel (Painless Wiring) and all exterior light fixtures. The headlights have been upgraded from the original round units to the square halogen units pictured. All fixtures were replaced in their entirety, not just the lenses. The interior was insulated with professionally applied polyurethane spray foam to the thickness of the frame members (40 MM). The bays were insulated with polyurethane board insulation, 1” on the café doors and 1-1/2” on the bay floor as well as between the bays and the house. There are two air conditioners; they are Cruisaire 14K BTU split units which operate on 120 VAC. These are extremely popular units which are specifically designed for mobile applications. The return air for the evaporators is filtered through replaceable HEPA filters. They are individually controlled with the factory thermostats and feature variable speed blower motors for extremely quiet operation. The generator is an Onan 10 KW Quiet Diesel with a remote starting panel including gauges mounted at the dashboard. The hour meter currently reads approximately 950 hours and the unit is tied to the house systems, along with the shore power supply at 220 VAC through an Iota automatic transfer switch. The original air powered windshield wipers were replaced with a new electric system which features independent control and intermittent wiping The original air assisted steering was replaced with a fully hydraulic system including a new gearbox (sector).Also installed was a tilt-telescope wheel and traditional center mounted horn button connected to a pair of Grover “Emergency” model air horns. These horns are loud and are mounted inside the front wheel wells in order to preserve the aesthetic lines of the bus. New Ramco remote control rear view mirrors were installed and both are controlled from a joystick switch at the driver’s position. All heating functions are managed by a diesel and electric boiler. This system, designed and manufactured by Vehicle Systems Inc. of Colorado, is called the Aquahot system. These systems are utilized in the majority of high end coaches on the road today. They operate on diesel fuel, electricity or both. The system includes 4 heating zones including bay heat and 3 zones in the living area. Each zone is separately controlled by its own thermostat. The system also heats the domestic water (endless instant hot water) and ties to engine block for engine preheat. The coolant loop to the engine also serves to exchange heat with this system when the engine is running. The system also utilizes an electric element to reduce fuel consumption when at the power pole or running the generator. The heated bays enable full wet camping in sub zero temperatures. The plumbing systems were designed for extended periods of dry camping and feature: 200 gal. fresh tank, 120 gal. gray tank, and a 66 gal. black tank. A Shurflow ultra-quiet water pump, stainless steel pressure tank, and hidden city water connection complete a very smooth running, quiet, and reliable delivery system. The fresh water is delivered to the house systems with PEX tubing. The tanks are heavy duty, custom built, rotationally molded, high density polyethylene units 3/8” thick. Black and gray are vented separately to the roof and the drain valves operate separately to allow discharge of gray water where allowed. The fresh water tank is equipped with an 1-1/2” dump valve to quickly empty the tank and for winterizing. All drain and vent plumbing is accomplished with standard ABS pipe. All dump valves are the readily available Valtera brand. The entire tankage system is assembled on a skid which is removable from the bay for ease of service. There is a large pull out drawer mounted on full extension drawer slides built into the skid which is an excellent place to store all of your external plumbing supplies (dump hose, fresh water hose, toilet wand, etc.). The tires are Goodyear G-159 (11R24) and the tread is currently 90 + %. The tires are mounted on Alcoa aluminum wheels. All axles received new brake linings, s-cam bushings, wheel bearings, wheel seals, and shock absorbers (other parts were replaced as needed, s-cams, slack adjusters, brake cans). This bus is equipped with spring brakes and manually adjusted slack adjusters. Air drying is accomplished with a Bendix AD-4 dryer which features a heated purge valve. The Torsion tubes are in great condition with plenty of adjustment left (need to get actual measurement but my eye says about 5” left). The fuel capacity is 150 gal. and fills from either side through locking access doors. The fuel tank also supplies generator and Aquahot down to ¼ tank through braided stainless steel fuel lines. The original Detroit Diesel two cycle (8V71) engine was replaced by a Caterpillar 3406B mechanical 4 cycle engine. This engine received an in frame overhaul at installation. The engine is rated (as built by Caterpillar), 425 HP, 1560 Ft. Lbs. torque. It is equipped with Jacob’s brakes, and an electric block heater (in addition to the Aquahot system method for preheat). An additional set of mechanical gauges are mounted at the rear of the bus (air pressure, oil pressure, and engine temp). This coach is equipped with a side mounted radiator, transmission cooler, and A/C condenser (for driver’s air) with belt driven fan. It also features a side mounted charge air cooler with twin electric fans. The throttle is still mechanical but I will include a Williams air throttle set up. The transmission was freshened before installation. It replaced the original Spicer 4 speed manual unit. The transmission is an Allison HT740, 4 speed automatic with remote cooling. The drive axle and drop box were completely overhauled at install with new ring and pinion, all bearings and seals (including wheel end). The original equipment dashboard was replaced with a custom R & M fiberglass unit. It features a full complement of new VDO electronic gauges. The driver’s area is also equipped with the monitor for the rear view camera including a speaker for audio feedback. Additional features include 1 small 12 volt fan and numerous dash mounted HVAC vents. The air conditioning vents are supplied by a new, Fridgette, HVAC heat exchanger / evaporator with defrost. This system is tied to the engine coolant loop and equipped with a booster pump for efficient circulation. The evaporator and condenser for this system are not connected but all plumbing is in place including the condenser. The compressor is included but has not been installed. All other functions are fully installed including switches, vents with ducting, vacuum pump for blend door operation, etc. Also included in the driver’s area is a hand throttle for high idle duties. The entertainment system features a 32” HD flat screen television connected to a Sony 1000 watt surround sound system. This Sony system includes a 5 disc AM/FM/CD/DVD player, 5 speakers and a sub-woofer. This 120VAC unit runs from the inverter or other 120VAC power sources. We utilize this system instead of the in-dash unit while parked or underway. This is the reason that there are no speakers connected to the dash mounted unit. The head unit is concealed inside the entertainment system cabinet and is controlled remotely from the driver’s seat or anywhere in the coach by utilizing the factory provided infrared remote control. The remote control signal reaches the head unit through the installed infrared repeater system. The bedroom is interconnected with a 12” pull out flat screen (12 volt DC). Over the air signals are received through an amplified, roof mounted, crank up, Winegard batwing antenna. There are numerous 75 ohm (RG-6) coaxial lead-in connections around the coach. These lead-in connections are located in the bays, on the roof, and under the left front corner of the exterior. All lead-ins are cabled to the entertainment system cabinet. Electrical- 12V, 4) ea. 8D AGM house batteries with Iota 75 amp charger. 120V, Vanner 1000 watt inverter, Iota automatic transfer switch, hidden Marinco 50 amp shore power cable connector and approx. 60 foot shore cord. Toilet is Sealand china bowl with auxiliary sprayer. Refrigerator- side by side 120 volt (approx 20 cu. Ft.) Microwave over cooktop with filter fan. There are eight hard points installed on the roof for the future installation of an observation platform or other roof mounted racks. Cooktop is 2 burner glass Sun visors- Rosen high end aircraft visors, (Same ones used by Boeing) fully adjustable Café doors on bays. Flooring is high end, engineered, hand sculpted Hickory. Walls are ½” ACX plywood covered with white FRP. Also included with this coach are numerous materials to help with the completion of the conversion in addition to full documentation of systems wiring, paint codes, owners and service manuals, picture documentation of the build, etc. A driver’s seat is also included although it is not shown in the pictures. This coach has been all over the western U.S. in all types of weather conditions. From over 100 degrees in the Arizona desert to sub zero temperatures in the Rocky Mountains, all systems perform flawlessly.
