Just enough luxury and creature comforts is what a Class C 24 foot motorhome offers - and the best-built one is the Winnebago Mercedes-Benz Diesel View. It is 6 inches narrower than the standard 8 foot width of a full size motorhome, and about 1/3 lighter, which helps greatly on old state highways, side roads, and even driving and parking in town. It is understandable why many people would choose a bigger coach for a proper rear bedroom, but not at the trade-off of a coach that's twice the weight: this motorhome easily gets 18 MPG - try to match that in a gas engine V8 (more like 8). The major cost of owning a vehicle is depreciation. Diesels inherently have low depreciation because they have an estimated 15,000 hour life: 400,000 miles if you average 30 MPH, 800,000 miles if you average 60 MPH. With the MBZ diesel you get what many call a "Million Mile Engine". That's why we have sold several dozen Sprinter vans, mostly commercial bare bones vans - which have hardly depreciated since 2007. We favor the 2002-2006 Sprinters that have had much fewer problems and get higher MPG. And they can run on BioDiesel without conversion. The 5-cylinder Mercedes-Benz turbo-diesel is remarkably quiet, delivering both consistent power and diesel fuel efficiency. An electronically controlled automatic transmission and power rack-and-pinion steering give the View excellent drivability and a tight turning radius. Offered for $42,500 - it's not a Midwest or East Coast rust bucket. There are only sixteen 2006 Views currently offered for sale nationwide with less than 100k miles:Highest Price: $49,999Lowest Price: $37,000Average Price: $43,000Lowest Miles: 15,000Highest Miles: 92,000Average Miles: 48,000There is only one within 500 miles of San Francisco (OR).
