This Atomic-era mid-century home reflects modern taste with its unadorned machine era style and modernity. Warm and inviting curved birch wood interior displays a very high level of craftsmanship. The highly functional minimalism layout has an open floor plan that feels spacious and easy to navigate. History: The Spartan all aluminum exterior Aircraft's were the basis of inspiration for the Spartan Mansion line. The famous Spartan Executive Model 7W aircraft was one of the most famous built by Spartan Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The same aeronautical genius was applied in the concept and building techniques of the lightweight Royal Mansion. Like its aeronautical predecessor, it was designed and built for durability and trouble-free performance. This one is still 100% functional and will cater to all of ones needs on and off the grid. This Mansion was one of the very first Royal Mansions built in 1950 at the Tulsa, OK Spartan Aircraft plant. This is one of the only remaining original Spartan's in immaculate original condition, located in the dry Southern United States. Our research has only uncovered 4 sold like it over the last 4 years. This trailer obtains the multi-tiered split windows throughout, 4 roof top ventilation shafts, two rear quarter rolling windows, forward slating nose, elegantly down curved tail-end and nearly perfect exterior and interior. This beauty will easily become the envy of all Spartan Aficionado's who lay eyes. The great ones like this quickly disappear from the US. when purchased by off-shore collectors of rare Americana. Hollywood & Spartans: Hollywood has always had a love affair with Spartan Trailer's since they seem to scream, ''I HAVE ARRIVED'' ! Actors and Actresses like Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz always had one on set. Even today's Actress Jane Hallwoorth owns a Mansion that travels around with her on and off set. These trailers are making a huge comeback and prices will only continue to go up as it gets harder to find them in original condition. Scope of Restoration/ Refresh: The majority points of the work were directed to: mechanical drive-ability of the trailer, electrical upgrades and plumbing upgrades. Even though this was considered to be one of the most modern trailers produced in 1950; it needed to be gone through and serviced with a modern eye. The exterior aluminum body, aluminum underbelly, sub frame, all of the distressed interior birch wood and interior trim, cabinetry and all appliances are all 100% original from 1950. We worked very hard to keep it original so that it's unique 50's style and feel would show through! Interior: The interior has all its factory original birch wood from floor to ceiling. It still obtains all the aluminum fittings in the windowsills, skylights, sky light caps. All original art deco style hinges and cabinetry hard-wear. Kitchen obtains a one piece aluminum double sink, all metal counter-top and backslash, four burner stove with large oven below and fully functional original KELVINATOR fridge/freezer. We Reupholstered the 50's dinner style kitchen seating with red leather and white piping, Classic original one piece aluminum sconces light up each wall through out the trailer. Large "yacht" style fluorescent lighting found under each cabinet to create a very soothing low light disbursement at night (fully rebuilt with modern electrical lighting). Open Floor Plan: This unique Royal Mansion obtains a completely open forward living space. Walking towards the rear you will observe a beautifully curved art-deco style cocktail/ mixing table with original wood privacy blinds built above. The table is multi-tiered shelving allows for displaying pictures or your favorite liquor bottles, wines or 50's memorabilia. Walking further to the rear takes you into a spacious retro kitchen on the right and large 50's diner style booth seating arrangement. To the left a large kitchen/prep area and stove then fridge. This then leads you to a private door way with a wood sliding door; upon opening, you enter a small hallway that leads to the bathroom door entrance on left and further past you enter into a very spacious and very uniquely shaped private rear quarters. To the right you will observe the rear quarters has its own private entrance/exit door. The large and spacious room's allow the new owner(s) the opportunity to furnish the trailer as they see fit. Design it however you want... Need dinner party space, no problem! Need to sleep 6+ people, no problem. Use furniture from your private mid-century collection or find pieces from a local boutique to furnish your trailer and make it into YOUR own very special and unique space. Windows: All windows and bug screens are 100% original with the exception to the three Plexiglas windows in front. These windows are mode of plexi-glass material. Floor: Original flooring has been removed and new high-quality hard wood flooring installed. Bathroom: Bathroom is a VERY unique one piece all aluminum wet bath configuration done in highly polished aluminum! WOW DOES IT POP!!! The lavatory has a tall residential size toilet, sink, rebuilt ventilation system, window, shower head, floor drain. Electrical: We installed a brand new electrical panel and a new 50 amp service line and receptacle/connection on the exterior of the trailer. We also ran a dedicated line from the box to the center roof vent (this vent is located in the kitchen). This upgrade will allow you to easily self install a roof-top A/C unit (12k or 15k) if you so choose. New electrical lines were also installed from the panel to all the new outlets and GFI outlets were installed in the kitchen area. The kitchenette and rear bedroom outlets have USB connections within the outlet itself to direct charge your smart phone or hand held device. Condition: This Spartan is in original condition with little done during the resto to change its original appearance. Exterior: Spartan Aircraft travel trailers obtain the thickest gauge aluminum ever used in a production travel trailer. Only the highest and purest grade aluminum was used in its production. This type of aluminum is usually reserved for aircraft use only. We own a polishing company so we recently polished all of the aluminum skin on its exterior. At roughly 350+ man hours of polishing, 8+ cuts to expose the beautifully reflective aluminum material. Lastly it was carefully polished by a four man team using a special orbital tool to work the metal into a mirror like reflective sheen. This polishing process is a must for Spartan's to simply stand out from among the rest, and the results are breath taking. We believe this to be a rare and highly desirable Spartan Mansion and due to its original condition, we think you will agree that this is a very unique and special Spartan trailer. With any trailer there are always things you will want to add or change to make it your own. You must have an open mind when engaging in a purchase of this type. INTRODUCING the 1957 SPARTAN EXECUTIVE MANSION. HistoryAfter WWII Tulsa Oklahoma's Spartan Aircraft company switched its production of aircraft to travel trailers, including this spacious and ever so rare park model, the 50' Executive Mansion. Streamlined at eight feet wide and fifty (yes 50') feet long, it resembles a rail car. The same aircraft quality went into the trailers weighing in at a mere 9,000 pounds - mostly aluminum. The body panels were rivited together. The curved roof and sides were designed to repel water and allow for wind to pass easily over the body. THIS IS NOT A FIBERGLASS BODY. Its condition is lazer straight as seen in images. Windows and vents were made for passive circulation. Inner structural aluminum supports made this light and strong. There was no plastic or fiberglass used in the construction process - it was mostly aircraft aluminum, stainless, copper, glass, brass, birch, and vinyl flooring. This model is a park model. No holding tanks - so it merely plugs into land hook ups, either at your home or fixed in RV park. .It was set up for natural gas and/or propane. Currently the over and cook top operate on propane. PROJECT 1957 MANSION The professional restoration took a full 14 months to complete. It began with an unmolested - original California specimen. All effort went into keeping it as original as possible. Sensitive upgrading was done where changes made the most sense. Every step was documented. No expenses were barred, and local trade professionals were brought into the process. The entire trailer was re-piped and all new drains were installed. The entire bathroom floor and cabinetry was replaced with like style and materials. The kitchen received all new appliances with sizes appropriately enlarged when possible. The 9'(one piece) long counter top and shower are food grade stainless, the 9' (one piece)back-splash is diamond plate aluminum. All cut and fit by hand. Doorways and windowsills were relined with aluminum skin.. Moen nickel high grade faucets in the vintage look cater service to the shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen faucet. A period 50's look correct grass-cloth was carefully installed and fit in living room and bedroom. All wood trim and baseboards were replaced with matching styles and varnished. Improvements were made - enlarging the size of counter top, and a stainless double sink ordered to size. A garbage disposal was determined to be an acceptable upgrade and it's activated with a sink mounted air switch. All electrical in kitchen was re-wired as well as a full electrical safety /upgrade check to all outlets. The plumbing was fully replaced using copper and PEX . All drains were replaced and exit a standard 3" pipe. A new European stainless gas stove top was installed that will use propane or natural gas. New propane tanks and regulators were mounted to the exterior tounge to allow outside and inside cooking. All windows were removed, repaired and tinted with a lifetime UV protection film. All broken window crank levers were replaced with spartan parts in kind. The fabulous new Armstrong floor sets this 50' jewel apart from all others. It's carefully selected lightly speckled colors being "set on the diamond" tested even the best of our installers. This is a commercial grade flooring and will give a lifetime of pleasure. Extra pieces should you decide to make a change or two to the layout. The 1957 spartan featured an in floor forced Coleman furnace, new advancement for the late 50's. The new refrigerator/freezer is a correct size and the finish matches the Coleman heater. The refrigerator sits on a new wood base with diamond plate surface and aluminum trim to highlight the kitchen. The original tourquoise 1957 PREWAY (propane/gas) has just been completely overhauled. It is in great working order just serviced and tested. It is currently on propane and can go to natural gas, if you want. Yes, the trailer was piped for natural gas and propane. All original pipe in place and tested. The four split rim tires are brand new. The center hub caps have been galvanized and machine polished. The wheels and trailer tongue have been prepped and finished with 3 coats of color correct Hammerite.Propane tanks are new and mounted in their correct location with all new regulators and lines. The exterior belt line area has received a recent acid bath to show off some of its near perfect straight body lines. Minimal work has been performed to exterior to maintain its original Spartan riveted aircraft appearance. There are no leaks and this trailer was in its original location in San Diego all of its life. The new interior lighting is a brushed stainless and glass sconce style appropriate to that period. Original sconces are usually better replaced for safety concern. The original sconces were broken and sprayed with varnish from 1957 - not fit for reuse. The all new galvanized exterior water lines have a galvanized water bib outlet faucet. This trailer was optioned with an aluminum spinning vent roof top that still works well. Windows designed for cross circulation are quite effective. The kitchen cabinets and hardware and sliders were all completely replaced, as well as the floor under them. The door styles were carefully matched. More cabinet space was added. The new doors were sanded and primered with 3 coats hand sanded Lacquer from Dunn Edwards.. The color sheen is a taupe- a full bodied satin finish - these surfaces are very tight and resistant to the toughest of kitchen surfaces. Almost resembles powder-coat in durability. Sheen is Satin. Fit flawless. The inside of the cabinets are finely finished with new self closing chrome handles and hinges. The new food grade stainless counter top has enough area to prep food on now. The overhead light is original, and has a new exhaust fan with the fan grill galvanized. A new overhead counter top shelf allows for cook books or glassware. It is supported with a 1 1/2" steel support that spans 9' - the same as the counter top. This replaced the dysfunctional original cabinet set-up that was worthless and a fire hazard. The original shower has been completely refinished with thick wall stainless steel. All corners are trimmed out with brushed aluminum. The same treatment goes in the pink sink. Cabinetry again done in lacquer. The original clothes hamper tilts out and has the gas water heater hidden in the closet. The water heated was repiped. The original exhaust and chrome heater fan all work perfectly. The trailer had a fully draped termite tent last month and has a certificate with warranty. Good for 3 years with certificate. The trailer has a bonded California housing title of ownership. It is registered with the department of housing in my name. It's registration status allows it to be towed and placed in any park situation. Buying a trailer without a title is like buying a car without title. There is even the original California black licence plate if you want to tow it into RV areas. Currently located in South Orange County,Ca. Space storage is transferable and private and almost beach front. Sold as is with no implied warranties. Tows like a dream with a 3/4 ton or greater truck. More pics available.Email any questions you have. If you are out of the area - your $500 deposit will lock in a potential sale and is subject to your full inspection. The inspection must take place within 10 days unless other agreements are made. If you decide you don't want to make the purchase after inspection, I will hand you an immediate refund of your entire deposit..The roof is very straight and the trailer doesn't appear to leak anywhere. This is one of the straightest and unmolested trailers of this period . I have towed it recently without any trouble. The interior birch ceiling is original and no attempt has been made to change that as its condition is acceptable. This verifies its water tightness. No permit is required to move it. I can also arrange for transportation.I can be reached via phone or text at 949 285 2855. Priced very reasonably at $49,250. Serious inquiries please. My loss - your gain. Health forces sale.RegardsBill
