The 2000 Winnebago Chieftain 35U is in a class by itself regarding comfort and usable space in a Class A motorhome. This two-slide coach provides a huge amount of usable space and is ready to take you on whatever grand adventures you can bring its way. The seller has recently overhauled this particular Chieftain 35U in anticipation of new travels. Those plans are on hold, making this ready-to-go coach available for sale. The Chieftain 35U has unique features only found on select Winnebago-manufactured coaches. First and foremost is the seamless fiberglass flat roof. There are no big bulges of AC units on the roof because this coach is cooled by a residential-style central AC unit housed in the rear. These units are more durable than the roof ACs, are easier to service, and it reduces the number of possible entry points for moisture into the roof area of the coach. This model also features slide-mounted storage boxes on the curbside, so no crawling under the slide and banging your head to get your goods out of storage. There is also a driver's door, making ingress and egress for the driver quick and easy at every stop. The seller created a vinyl cling and applied to the coach to replace the 20+-year-old decals with more modern styling. At just 54,000 miles, this 2000 Winnebago Chieftain 35U has very low mileage and the care it has received shows. It was stored under cover since the seller purchased it in 2017. with a nice interior and exterior and running on its powerful engine on a Dodge chassis. It's had a charmed life, never been hit, and sure is an eye catcher at RV parks. It's located in Chatsworth, Ca.The appliances, including 2 way fridge, microwave, oven, roof AC all work. As do the beautiful original shower, toilet and sinks.The roof has just been re-coated even tough there have never been any leaks! The floor is solid, plumbing, propane, electrical, carpet and cabinetry ceiling are very nice condition and it is set up for cable in the bedroom and plete with TV and disc player. The 4000 watt Onan generator with only couple hundred hours on it works well. provided may extras like the original optional room dividers, screens, curtains, ladder, spare tire rack and bunk "over the cab" bed/storage.....so its really quite special. And it doesn't have to be "Smogged"..it's exempt. The engine kicks right over, tranny is strong, and I haven't spotted any leaks. Sure there are still some things that need doing.....and I'd be glad to discuss them with you. Parts are obtainable, mechanics are familiar with the "muscle Car engine, and there is a wondrous website where fellow vintage rig owners share information. As an investment it's interesting because these classics are just beginning to appreciate in value. there is one in the Smithsonian already. There are lots of potential uses....the beach or hunting escapes, a driveway private "live in", or just "hit the road retro style.
